Irene, Lana and Lindy – Three of our volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help in our Opportunity Shop at 200 Bank Street South Melbourne Opportunity Shop.

We rely on our wonderful team of volunteers to assist us in the shop and on our Committee of Management. There is a diversity of roles including sales, sorting, shop display, communications, marketing and management committee member. Volunteers bring benefits and qualities and are vital to the health and success of this organisation.

Volunteering is a great way to develop customer service and retail skills, connect with the local community, meet new friends, and help to raise funds.

Our shop is open from Monday to Saturday and relies on the ongoing support of volunteers to assist with the sale of goods, customer service, visual merchandising, sorting, and pricing of donations, and stock replenishment.

You might have knowledge or interest in a particular area, or are passionate about fashion, jewellery, books or other items.

We would love to hear from you. Call in to the shop at 200 Bank Street South Melbourne or ring Dallas our Shop Manager on 9699 6839.

Volunteering can be flexible, and it can be a fun and engaging way to help your community.

Management committee roles include governance, bookkeeping and finance, promotion and marketing, minute-taking, building management, liaison with local government, events management, health, and safety and more. If you are interested to serve in a committee role use the form on the Contact page to tell us about yourself.
